Welcome to my blog

Welcome

Greetings and welcome to my blog! I decided to create this blog because I want to educate, encourage, and empower people. My name is Andreea Johnson I am a follower of Jesus Christ! I believe Jesus died on the cross for my sins and was resurrected on the third day. I am a single woman with diverse interests and I thought would be nice to share my world with others. As I journey through life, I have connected with other vibrant single Christian men and women who actually have rich and meaningful lives like me. I make the choice to enjoy each chapter of my life's journey despite the constant questions from family, friends and sometimes random people inquiring about my "single status." One lesson I have learned is people will always have quotas and expectations they want you to fulfill in every stage of life. What matters most is being led by God. My heart is focused on God and the leading of His Spirit for my entire life.

I really want to invite you into my world with the hope of sharing Christ. My blog is designed to share the joys and struggles of life to educate, encourage and empower people along the way. I also will share my hobbies and whatever else is on my heart to share. I have always enjoyed writing and have a passion for it. I also like to create beautiful things which is probably why I enjoy arts and crafts. I crochet as a hobby; I have crocheted since I was a little girl. My prayer is that God will use my quirky and sometimes painful life experiences in this blog to inspire others to grow in faith in God.

Now that you know a little about me and my interests, let me tell you how I became a Christian. I didn't grow up in a Christian home. My family believed in God and we went to church sometimes but I didn't really learn how to have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. As an adult, I went to church randomly like I did when I was a child. As a result, my faith was limited to what I could see in front of me. I lived based on circumstances. I had no source of consistent peace. In 2003 when I was 20 years old my mother died suddenly without warning. My whole world was changed. I had to adjust to a "new normal." At that point, all my struggles with negativity and anxiety were magnified. I had no interest in knowing God because I was so hurt over my mother's sudden death. I believed God didn't care about me so I lived by what I thought was good in my own eyes.

My relationship with God started to develop when I moved to Atlanta in 2008. Shortly after moving, I began to feel lonely and isolated because I didn't have any family nearby. I realized I needed a change. I knew something was missing but I couldn't figure out what. So I did what any normal girl would do. I bought more stuff and went searching for love. Surely material things and a man would cure the voids in my heart... right? WRONG! Only God could fill the void in my heart.

I began my journey as a Christian in 2009 when my co-worker invited me to take a class at church with her. I had no idea my life was about to change again. The class was about developing a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Through reading the Bible for the class assignments God revealed to me that His word is true and I believed it. I went through a lot of very painful and uncomfortable changes during this period of my life.

For the first time in life I was completely aware of God and I knew He wanted me to follow Him wholeheartedly; this was such an amazing revelation! My life is not perfect or problem free but I now have peace in my heart because of my relationship with God.

Since my journey in Christ began in 2009, God changed me in so many ways. He gave me a new heart. I don't want to live for my own selfish ambition anymore. I now want to live for Christ! My passion and purpose in life is to counsel and share the gospel of Jesus Christ. I’m excited for the future and where God is leading me! I will always be a work in progress but I intentionally strive daily to grow in my faith in God and trust in His promises.
